A Message from Taylor

Most of my clients never planned to become HR managers. They built strong, owner-led businesses—and suddenly found themselves responsible for people issues they were never trained to handle.

 

Harbor HR Advisors was created to bridge that gap.

 

I help owner-led, service-based businesses build practical HR structure that supports growth, reduces risk, and protects the business—without overcomplicating people operations or adding unnecessary overhead. My role is to provide strategic HR guidance and hands-on support so business owners can step out of day-to-day HR and focus on scaling their company.

 

A Practical, People-Centered HR Consultant

When I told my friends years ago that I was going into Human Resources, they laughed—not because they didn’t believe in me, but because I didn’t fit the traditional HR stereotype. I’m not rigid, impersonal, or focused on saying “no.”

 

My approach as an HR consultant is practical, collaborative, and grounded in real business operations. I believe effective HR for small businesses is built on trust, clarity, and consistency—not corporate red tape. Instead of defaulting to policy, I focus on finding compliant, workable solutions that align with how your business actually runs.

Experience That Matches Growing Businesses

I’m a SHRM Certified Human Resources professional with 15 years of experience supporting businesses across hospitality, healthcare, and finance. My background spans roles from HR Coordinator to HR Director, giving me hands-on expertise in employee relations, HR compliance, recruiting and onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, workers’ compensation, and risk mitigation.

 

I’ve worked in both corporate environments and small, owner-led businesses, and I’ve found my home supporting growing companies. I understand the pressure business owners face when HR responsibilities fall on their shoulders—often without internal leadership or management infrastructure in place.

Harbor HR Advisors partners with owner-led, service-based businesses—typically between 15 and 100 employees—that are scaling and need professional HR support without hiring a full internal HR team.
